On Monday 20th December Pilkington Park Councillors; Cllrs Nick Jones, Russell Bernstein and Bob Caserta, joined Greater Manchester Police for a day of action. The Ward Councillors and Police hosted a drop-in surgery at McDonald’s Whitefield to meet residents from across the Whitefield township and discuss all matters relating to community safety. Surgery's take place on a monthly basis across the Pilkington Park Ward.
Following Greater Manchester Police being placed in Special Measures, Bury has welcomed new Chief Superintendent, Chris Hill to the borough to improve the state of policing across our communities. Regular "days of action" are planned in the future and Conservative Councillors are keen to get involved to help us tackle Crime and Anti-Social behaviour.
Cllr. Nick Jones, Pilkington Park Councillor and Leader of Bury Conservatives commented
Once again we joined the Police for a joint Councillor/Police community event in Whitefield. We are grateful to the police to discuss safety within the Pilkington Park Ward with residents and take the feedback onboard.
Over the past year we have hosted these events and it is great to see that the community feedback is acted upon from crime and anti-social behaviour to speeding.
