Residents across Bury have made clear that fly-tipping is becoming a blight on our community. Back alleys, parks and pavements have become a dumping group for unwanted items and rubbish. In some areas this has led to the presence of vermin including rats, which is a threat to public health.
Redvales Campaigner Shahbaz Arif who has been conducting regular litter pick sessions states “Labour have ignored local concerns for years and have badly damaged people's pride in their local communities. With cuts to grounds maintenance and street cleaning leading to an increase in missed bin collections and a lack of grass and tree cutting".
If Conservatives take a majority of seats on the council on May 2nd we would invest £1 million pounds in street cleaning services to improve the environment and ensure strict action is taken against those caught fly-tipping.
