I would like to introduce myself as the Conservative Councillor for the Tottington Ward.
I am proud to call Tottington my home. I live on Bury Road, just a few doors up from where I grew up. I am a parishioner at St Anne's in Tottington village and host a bi-weekly pub quiz at the Lamb Inn, I have also been known to frequent when I'm not doing the quiz!
I am delighted to be selected as the candidate for Affetside, Walshaw & Tottington. Not just because this is my home, but because I believe that a Conservative controlled Council has never been more crucial.
The mismanagement of money by the current leadership of our council is truly staggering and cannot be allowed to continue. We are also at a crucial point for our natural beauty and green spaces. Upon Stockport Council voting against the GMSF, we all hoped and prayed that the destruction of our greenbelt would be over.
However, since then the Labour Mayor of Greater Manchester and our Labour council have put in place plans to redesign the plan to continue with their ambition to build houses on our greenbelt. Walshaw, in particular, will be decimated by these plans.
If elected, I will join my other Conservative colleagues in opposing these plans and protect our beautiful towns and villages.
This is our last chance and it has never been more important.
