Working with our friends in South Ribble, we invite you to their Margaret Thatcher Dinner featuring renowned historian Dr David Starkey on Friday, 14th March. As well as welcoming Dr Starkey, we’ll be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Margaret Thatcher becoming our Party leader back in 1975.
David Starkey is a historian, author, and broadcaster, best known for his expertise in Tudor history—particularly the reign of Henry VIII. He gained prominence through his television series, books, and documentaries, establishing himself as a leading figure in popular history. Celebrated for his bold and often controversial views on history, politics, and society, Dr Starkey frequently sparks debate. In recent years, he has become one of the key voices of the Centre-Right and is actively involved with the Popular Conservatism pressure group. An evening with Dr Starkey is an experience not to be missed!
The Margaret Thatcher Dinner will be held at Leyland Golf Club, Wigan Road, PR25 5UD (just a couple of minutes’ drive from Junction 28 of the M6). We will gather at 7:00 PM for a 7:30 PM start.
Tickets are priced at £45 per person for a three-course meal with tea and coffee. For those who would like to meet David Starkey prior to dinner, we will be hosting a small welcome drinks reception from 6:00 PM for an additional £15 per person. Capacity for this reception is strictly limited, and tickets will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
